These will have a handle for carrying them and clips or locks to keep the board closed while being transported. Backgammon boards are usually covered with a felt like material, sometimes they are made with velour or sometimes suede, to make for both a nice presentation and a good quality playing surface.

Many people find that backgammon is a great game to relax with. You can play anywhere and if you join a backgammon club you have the opportunity to play with different opponents and meet new people.
