Replacing Your Backgammon Chips
Michalis 'BIG Mike' Kotzakolios
Defined Tag: Backgammon Chips.
The pieces that are used to move around on the backgammon board are called backgammon chips. Depending on what quality of game you have purchased the chips can be made of many different materials. The lesser expensive games, where you use cardboard boards that fold up when you done, normally come with backgammon chips made of thin plastic. These kinds of chips are just fine for beginners. This is not necessarily the case when you buy the more expensive backgammon boards. If you decide that this is the direction you want to go, buying a table top board or a rollup one, then you will see that the quality of the chips improves with the quality of the board.
What happens if you have had your backgammon set for a number of years and the backgammon chips begin to crack or wear? Even good quality chips can be dropped or even lost. You can’t play your game without the correct number backgammon chips and no game ever seems to come with extra pieces. Fortunately there are many places that you can buy replacement ones. I would not count on being able to buy the same ones as you have used for years with your prized set but nonetheless there will certainly be ones that will catch your eye and make for good replacements.
You can buy these replacement backgammon chips at any store that sells games or online. They are sold in several different ways. You can buy a set, which means backgammon chips for both sides made of high quality polished plastic or you can buy them made out of wood. They are available in just about any color you could possibly choose. Some come in sets that are sold as is. While others are sets where you can choose which two colors you want the pieces to be made of. The average price for a set of chips ranges from twenty to thirty five dollars depending on what you choose. The wooden ones are more expensive. If you are buying form an online store don’t forget there will be postage charges as well.

We’re all well aware by now that the Dog Snuggie is a thing — it even has its own website and informative URL, snuggiefordogs.com — so when I came across a bunch of Dog Snuggies for sale in a housewares store over the weekend, I wasn’t initially thrown off. What I did not know, however, is that the box for Dog Snuggies features a picture of two little dogs in Snuggies playing Backgammon: SOLD ...

It was the life of leisure at the Trina Turk presentation, at her showroom in the Meatpacking District. Themed as a Palm Spring house party, models lounged on a white shag rug, taking Polaroids of each other and playing backgammon while wearing slinky ’70s-inspired dresses. Aside from the traditional pink...

PETE ROSE wants to know, what kind of a guy was Ty Cobb? He knows the answer, he just wants you to think about it before you ask him whether he belongs in baseball's Hall of Fame. He knows that there's a fistful of bigots and braggarts in the Hall of Fame, some drunks and skunks, cheaters and wife-beaters.
